Marie (Mori) Bartol of Revere, whose Sunday dinners, holiday tables and cookies were the center of her family’s life, died Tuesday, October 13, with her family around her. She was 95.
Born in Boston on May 15, 1931, to the late Jeremiah P. Mori and Rose A. (Bagnera) Mori, she was married for 49 years to the late Robert L. Bartol Sr. She made her home the gathering place, cooking Italian food for family and friends, and her family wrote that people asked for her cookies by name. She was also a fixture in the stands at her grandchildren’s hockey games and youth sports.
Survivors include two children who both live in Revere, Robert L. Bartol Jr. (married to Noreen) and Linda Redding (married to Scott). Her four grandchildren are Jeffrey Redding (Tiana), Patrick Bartol (Karleen), Daniel Redding (Giana) and Ryan Bartol, and her two great-grandchildren are Adonis Redding and Madison R. Bartol.
Friends may call Monday, October 19, between 10 and 11:30 a.m. at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street. Her funeral Mass follows at noon at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial gifts may go to the American Lung Association at lung.org or by mail to P.O.
