The Chelsea Public Library holds its 21st annual Chelsea Reads celebration on Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, 569 Broadway. Every child and teen who comes, from babies up, takes home free books.

The library describes the day as a family literacy celebration. Along with the books there will be a face painter, a balloon artist and cupcakes, plus crafts and tables staffed by community organizations.

Guest readers through the day

Special guest story times run throughout the event. The library says the readers include city councilors, local first responders and the city manager.
