Lorraine Doucette, 91

Lorraine K. (Ball) Doucette, a former resident of Everett, passed away on February 26 at Glenridge Nursing Care Center in Medford/Malden, where she had been receiving supportive care for nine years. She was 91.

A lifelong Everett native, Mrs. Doucette was the daughter of William and Ann (Sambri) Ball, both deceased. She centered her life around her family and home. She was preceded in death by three husbands and her daughter Joyce McKeon. Following Joyce’s death, she took on the role of mother to her grandchildren Anthony and Denise, whom she raised as her own.

She is survived by her children Patricia Cocorochio, Joseph Gurski and his wife Carol of Saugus, Sandra Goodrich of Chelsea, Philip Doucette Jr. and his wife Dolly of Dracut, and Michael Doucette and his wife Cecile of Revere, as well as Anthony McKeon and Denise Ciulla. She was also the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Doucette, Benjamin Gurski and Harold Greenlaw. Her late sister Dorothy Gerrimmi also preceded her.

Mrs. Doucette was the cherished grandmother of Joseph Gurski Jr. and the late William Gurski. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Grace Church on March 2, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. The Frank A. Welsh and Sons Funeral Home handled the arrangements. An online guestbook is available at www.WelshFuneralHome.com.
