Chelsea High School’s boys track team defeated Greater Lawrence by a score of 83-53, improving their record to 3-0. Several athletes posted notable performances in the meet.
David Romero achieved a personal best in the shot put, placing first with a distance of 37 feet 8 inches. Luis Hernandez took first in the high jump at 5 feet 4 inches. Diego Reyes continued his undefeated streak across multiple events, winning the long jump at 19 feet 5 inches, the triple jump at 38 feet 9 inches, and the 400 meters in 57.8 seconds.
Xavier Ortiz remained undefeated in both the 100 meters (11.3 seconds) and 200 meters (23.2 seconds), while also finishing second in the long jump at 19 feet 1 inches. Joseph Arroyo won the 2 mile with a time of 12:46. Jon-Carlo Vega claimed victory in the 400 meter hurdles at 64 seconds.
Additional first-place finishes came from Ugo Cujetan in the mile at 5:03, his second win of the season, and Walter Cortez in the javelin with a throw of 112 feet 2 inches. Rony Gomez won the discus at 95 feet 2 inches, with Romero placing second at 94 feet 10 inches.
Norbert Simon posted a personal best of 5 feet 4 inches for second place in the high jump. Santos Hernandez finished second in both the 400 meter hurdles and the 110 meter high hurdles.
