Sarah B. Yeshilian, a Filenes Department Store retiree, passed away on April 26 at the age of 93. She had lived in Melrose most recently, though she previously resided in Chelsea and Watertown. Throughout her life, she worked as a bookkeeper and in sales at Filenes, and in her later years lived at the Pavilion Nursing facility in Lebanon, TN. Her commitment to the St. James Armenian Apostolic Church of Watertown was long-standing, as was her dedication to advancing quality education and schools for young people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Yeshilian. Surviving her are three children: Michael Yeshilian Jr. and his wife Gwendolyn of Massachusetts, Joseph M. Yeshilian of Massachusetts, and Jeanne B. Lawson of Tennessee along with her husband Hershel R. Lawson. Also surviving are her brother Joseph Saunders of Massachusetts and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown, TN is handling funeral arrangements. A Memorial Church Service will take place at St. James Armenian Apostolic Church, 465 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown on Friday, May 7 at 12 p.m. Those wishing to honor her memory may make donations to St. James Armenian Apostolic Church in place of flowers.
