Chelsea man convicted of murder

A Suffolk Superior Court jury deliberated for two days before returning a guilty verdict against Mario Martinez Bonilla, a 24-year-old Chelsea resident, on a charge of first-degree murder. The conviction resulted in a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley. Bonilla was found guilty in connection with the stabbing death of Luis Garcia-Calle, 22, of East Boston, which occurred during a bar altercation in Chelsea two years prior, Conley stated.
