While Everett is expected to favor DiDomenico, the consolidated Cambridge vote could neutralize his 120 vote victory from their last matchup. Flaherty is anticipated to hold Chelsea, which he won decisively before, and the Barrios endorsement is expected to bring additional support his way. Former Senator Jarred Barrios, absent from politics for nearly six years, endorsed Flaherty two weeks ago—a move believed to have energized Cambridge’s liberal voters and potentially alter the race’s outcome. Cambridge residents will decide between Flaherty, their local candidate, and DiDomenico, whose family has maintained a business presence in the city for many years. DiDomenico’s support includes endorsements from approximately 22 Everett Common Councilors and Aldermen. Both candidates have maintained rigorous canvassing schedules throughout the district.
