Nineteen (19) individuals were taken into custody during coordinated early morning raids announced by the Chelsea Police Department, with twelve (12) of those arrests stemming from Federal Indictment Warrants. Defendants arrested in connection with the operation face potential sentences reaching twenty (20) years in prison on charges related to narcotics and firearm offenses. The investigation, which spanned twelve months and was led by the FBI, focused on “Operation Royal Ruin” and targeted criminal operations connected to the Latin King Gang in Chelsea and Boston. Activities under investigation included gun trafficking, narcotic distribution, and various violent offenses. Chief Brian A. Kyes stated that “The Chelsea Police Department will continue to conduct these operations that target this very dangerous element.” and further noted “The Department has prioritized focused enforcement on these repeat offenders and will continue to work with our Federal and State partners in this aggressive pursuit to make Chelsea safer”.
