Chelsea Police reported that Julio Vaquerano, 36, of Everett was struck and killed by a vehicle in the vicinity of Blossom and Maple Streets just after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday night. According to witnesses, the vehicle responsible for the collision left the scene without stopping. Officers arrived at the location following a 911 call received at 10:09 p.m. reporting a person hit by a car. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Vaquerano on the street with severe trauma and a critical head wound. At the scene, paramedics provided emergency care to stabilize him before he was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. As investigators examined the incident, they recovered one of Vaquerano’s sneakers and pieces of his clothing scattered on the street, suggesting the vehicle struck him with considerable force. Police are actively pursuing leads and seeking a dark colored motor vehicle displaying front end damage. The Chelsea Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
