New Chelsea Dockside Restaurant Coming to Life

Chelsea, Massachusetts

Within the former Demoulas supermarket building at the mall, a new restaurant called Dockside is being constructed. The view from the future restaurant space is shown above. Demoulas officials are finalizing a lease agreement for 5400 square feet in the former supermarket building with the owners of the Dockside restaurant chain. Nearly six months of planning have already taken place. According to the Dockside chain owners, only minor last-minute adjustments to financing and financial details remained. A full-service bar and restaurant will operate in this newly built-out space. The owners of Dockside estimated construction costs at $1.1 million to complete the restaurant and bar. When the project is finished, the space will accommodate 140 diners at booths and tables, with an additional 55 seats at the bar. According to Dockside owners, the new Demoulas’ Mall location will employ approximately 55 people, with 38 in full-time positions. Jack Urbaczewski, owner of the Dockside restaurant chain, is pictured in silhouette inside the new space. The restaurant will feature an open concept design with quality décor and multiple flat screen televisions spread throughout. A patio area will provide seating for 60 additional guests. Jack Urbaczewski, who owns Dockside, is a Chelsea native. “I’m excited to get back here,” he said while touring the property Wednesday morning. “Unbelievably enough, I grew up about 50 feet from the spot where the front door of this restaurant will be placed,” he said, shaking his head in wonder.
