The Class of 2011

Chelsea, Massachusetts

Chelsea High School’s class of 2012 has now graduated. These young people are stepping into a world reshaped by recession and its ongoing consequences, facing a global landscape marked by constant new difficulties. The simplicity of earlier times has vanished. To succeed, graduates must compete for their place in an ever-changing world. A significant portion of CHS’s graduating class will pursue higher education. Some have chosen military service. A number of enterprising students have already secured employment. Still others plan to remain in Chelsea to support their families. Experience teaches us that high school graduation represents a pivotal moment in the lives of young people everywhere. These students depart Chelsea High School carrying hope and ambition, taking with them friendships forged and experiences shared. They leave their home in Chelsea to venture forth into the world, pursuing their individual aspirations and working toward their personal goals and dreams. For the majority of this graduating class, the future holds promise and fulfillment. These young people are perceptive. They grasp reality early in a city like ours. They have already overcome obstacles that young people in suburban communities would never encounter. Now arrives the time when they confront the new world awaiting them. This is a remarkable moment. We extend our best wishes to these students. God bless them all.
