On Wednesday, the Chelsea Police Department dispatched 15 uniformed officers in full dress to attend the funeral service for MIT Police Officer Sean Collier, held in Cambridge at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
According to Chief Brian Kyes, the department’s participation reflected a broader commitment shared by many regional law enforcement agencies to send substantial representation to the private ceremony.
The service drew thousands of public safety officials representing departments across the United States and Canada.
Among the attendees was U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
