Police Continue to Target Neighborhood Drug Dealing

This week, the Chelsea Police Department intensified efforts against street-level drug dealing. Working from community tips as part of an ongoing undercover operation, CPD officers and State Police Detectives conducted undercover narcotics purchases from a Tudor Street residence on Thursday evening. The surveillance and informant leads resulted in one arrest, the seizure of a substantial quantity of Heroin and cash, and the impounding of two vehicles suspected of involvement in the drug operation. Forfeiture proceedings have been initiated for those vehicles. The arrested individual, Olvin Lopez, age 29 of 36 Tudor Street, faces charges including Trafficking in Heroin and related drug offenses. Chief Kyes remarked, “These arrests were made with the help of the community and their willingness to provide investigators with detailed information” He further noted, “The Chelsea Police will continue its aggressive measures against drug dealing in the city utilizing all available resources”
