A woman from Revere who sustained critical injuries discovered on Broadway in the early hours of Tuesday has succumbed to her injuries. Police are seeking public assistance in locating the person responsible.
Michelle Dauwer, 45, who last resided on Constitution Avenue in Revere, was pronounced dead. Investigators are treating her death as a homicide.
Officers from Chelsea Police arrived at Broadway and Congress Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday following a report that a woman was lying in the street. According to accounts from people at the scene, the woman had been coming from the direction of Everett Avenue before collapsing.
She was transported by emergency medical personnel to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she passed away later that Tuesday morning.
The death is under investigation as a homicide. The inquiry is being conducted by Chelsea Police detectives working alongside homicide detectives from the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit. Support is being provided by the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and additional specialized investigative units.
