Dan Ryan and RoseLee Vincent both won their respective Democratic primary elections Tuesday for the State Representative position, and we extend our congratulations to them both.
Both candidates will advance to the final election scheduled for April 1. Ryan faces no opposition in that race, but as an aide to Congressman Michael Capuano, he certainly merits strong support from Chelsea voters on election day.
Vincent, meanwhile, will compete against Chelsea Republican nominee Todd Taylor in the general election.
The campaigns waged by the other candidates—Linda Rosa, Chris Remmes, Josh Monahan, and Roy Avellaneda—also deserve recognition for their quality efforts. Avellaneda brings a record of service to the Chelsea City Council, while Monahan, a Harvard University graduate, was competing in his first election and mounted a notably strong campaign despite being a newcomer to electoral politics.
As RoseLee Vincent and Todd Taylor prepare to face off for the opportunity to replace Kathi-Anne Reinstein on Beacon Hill, we encourage Chelsea residents to maintain their engagement with the voting process through the final election.
