At a special ceremony in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Golden Cannoli Shells Company, Inc. received recognition as the SBA Massachusetts Small Business of the Year. The honoree was celebrated by Congressman Michael Capuano, SBA New England Regional Administrator Seth Goodall, and various other dignitaries who attended the event.
The business tour and reception were hosted by Golden Cannoli’s ownership group: Valerie Bono, Ed Bresciani, Eric Bresciani, and Maria Elena Malloy, who welcomed the visiting delegation.
Established over 40 years ago, Golden Cannoli Shells, Inc. operates as a family enterprise specializing in hand-rolled premium cannoli shells for nationwide distribution. The company has garnered national attention and experienced significant expansion with assistance from the SBA and First Trade Union Bank, securing SBA-backed loans for both equipment upgrades and acquisition of a new 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility. In addition, the ownership team maintains a working relationship with SCORE representatives to develop business management strategies and operational restructuring aimed at optimal efficiency.

Seth A. Goodall, the SBA’s New England Regional Administrator, offered his assessment: He further emphasized the company’s community-focused approach and praised their business achievements, describing them as emblematic of Massachusetts’ 2014 Small Business of the Year.
On May 13, 2014, Golden Cannoli will receive additional recognition alongside other Massachusetts Small Business Week 2014 honorees at an SBA awards breakfast hosted by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick at Lombardo’s.
