Glen Breese

Shoe Salesman; Chelsea Auxiliary Firefighter

Glen J. Breese passed away unexpectedly on June 24. He was 62 years old.

Glen was born and raised in Chelsea, where he attended Williams and Shurtleff Schools during the 1960s. He joined the Elks with his late uncle, Nathan Edelstein, and became a member of the Chelsea Auxiliary Fire Department before enlisting in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict in January 1971. Following his discharge in 1973 as a firefighter, he returned to the Auxiliary Fire Department and spent many years working as a shoe salesperson.

He was the son of the late Robert G. and Sophie (Edelstein) and the grandson of the late Isadore and Francis Edelstein. Glen is survived by two sisters, Cheryl A. Lopez of Chelsea and Sandra E. of Peabody. He was the brother of the late Robert F. and the brother to Albert Brodsky. He is also survived by a son, Thomas P., and a daughter, Tina Marie, and her husband, Shane Robinson of New Hampshire. Glen leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and four grandchildren. He is also remembered by several close friends and cousins in the Massachusetts area.

The Funeral Services were held at the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, as a promise to his late father, on Wednesday, July 2. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in his memory to the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, 17 Lafayette Ave, Chelsea, MA 02150, in the name of the Edelsteins.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Frank A. Welsh and Sons Funeral Home.
