Several thousand Chelsea school children will see summer come to an end early next week when the fall semester begins.
Superintendent Mary Bourque announced that students are expected to report back on Tuesday, Aug. 26, ready to start their day at their assigned schools.
“I want to welcome all students back for a year of purposeful learning on Tuesday, August 26,” Bourque stated. “Our faculty and staff are working hard to prepare our buildings and our lessons to support a year of student success. We are excited to begin the 2014-2015 school year with everyone.”
New teachers have already begun reporting for training this week, and administrators are scheduled for a retreat on Aug. 21.
Chelsea High School (CHS) students will encounter one of the most significant changes in new Principal Priti Johari, who assumed leadership this past summer following former Principal Joe Mullaney’s departure. During a summer interview, Johari expressed her readiness to greet returning students and establish connections with families and community members.
On Monday, Aug. 25, Superintendent Bourque will host the annual Teacher’s Breakfast.
