The 6th annual ALS & MS Walk for Living is scheduled for Sept. 28 at the Leonard Florence Center on Admiral’s Hill in Chelsea. KISS 108’s Matt Siegel launched the event last week and will serve as emcee for this year’s walk. The Center is home to the nation’s first specialized ALS and MS residences, which allow residents to maintain active and independent lifestyles.
Joining Siegel in kicking off the walk was Jack Geilfuss, the featured face of this year’s event. After being diagnosed with MS during his college years, Geilfuss became a resident at the Leonard Florence Center shortly following its opening. Steve Saling, also a resident at the Center, is an architect who contributed to the facility’s design after receiving an ALS diagnosis eight years ago.
