Tuesday’s ballot defeat of Question 3, the Casino Repeal effort, removes obstacles and allows Wynn Resorts to accelerate its casino development initiative.
At a viewing party held at Everett High School, Wynn leadership received notification of the voting outcome and announced their readiness to proceed. During the Mass Gaming Commission (MGC) meeting on Oct. 23, DeSalvio informed Commissioners that Steve Wynn and a team of designers had been working intensively in Las Vegas to redesign the tower concept that failed to meet the MGC’s approval. He indicated the company would present multiple redesign options following the official license award scheduled for Nov. 6. The license itself was contingent upon the defeat of Question 3.
In that same MGC session, DeSalvio also commended Chelsea City Manager Jay Ash. He described his recent visit to City Hall, where he learned about the city’s revitalization progress and expanding hotel sector. DeSalvio characterized this outreach as part of Wynn’s broader effort to rebuild relationships following the contentious casino licensing process.
