Marie M. (Wendeborn) Cronin, formerly of Chelsea and a resident of Winthrop, passed away on January 29.
She had retired after 30 years of service at Broadway National Bank. Marie is survived by her son, James E. Cronin, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Winthrop; her granddaughter, Jaime Goldfarb and her husband, Jason of Danvers; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the devoted wife of the late James E. Cronin, Sr.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea on Saturday, February 7 at 10 a.m. (attendees should proceed directly to church). Visiting hours take place on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea. Following services, interment will occur at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Rosemarie Pawlak
Metropolitan Credit Union employee; devoted to family and friends
Rosemarie (Covina) Pawlak, age 70, passed away on Friday, January 30 at Mass. General Hospital.
A Chelsea native who attended Chelsea Public Schools, Rosemarie graduated from Chelsea High School in 1961. Following graduation, she joined Metropolitan Credit Union, where she advanced to mortgage consultant before retiring after 33 years of employment.
Rosemarie was passionate about Boston sports, particularly the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. She also enjoyed frequent trips to Foxwoods and was an active bingo player at local establishments. Most notably, she was a selfless individual who devoted herself to her family and friends, always ready to help those in need without expecting anything in return.
She was the devoted wife of the late John A. Pawlak, Sr., with whom she shared 37 years of marriage; loving mother of John A. Pawlak, Jr. and his companion, Debbie Duggan of Everett, Deborah A. Grillo and her husband, Juliano Grillo of East Boston, and Lisa M. Pawlak of Revere; cherished grandmother of Victoria Pawlak, Richard Trimarchi, Nicholas Pawlak, Matthew J. Grillo, Anthony Grillo and Juliana Grillo; beloved sister of Eleanor Covino of New Hampshire, John Covino of Chelsea, Anthony Covino and his wife, Donna of Winthrop, and the late Bernard Covino. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere on Thursday, February 5 at 8 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church (Washington Ave.) Revere. Interment took place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Harold Brown Jr.
Of North Carolina, formerly of Chelsea
Harold R. Brown, Jr., formerly of Chelsea and a resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, died unexpectedly on January 26.
Harold spent his life in Fayetteville with his family, enjoying the Carolina climate. A passionate fisherman who loved the ocean, he worked as a mechanic for 15 years before transitioning to security work for a private company and at Fort Bragg, NC. Along with his wife, Anne, Harold was a vendor at the Bragg Boulevard Flea Market, where they developed many friendships. Those who knew Harold recognized him as a straightforward, outspoken individual who was devoted to providing for his family. He was a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Anne D. (Doyle); his beloved children, Shelly Ashby-Spexarth of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Harold E. Brown III of Chelsea, and Melanie Lee Brown and Melissa Joy Brown, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; his loving siblings, Nancy Cardone and Kathleen Torres, both of Chelsea, John Brown of Lynn, and the late Gloria Mondou, Patricia Pizzaro and Michael Brown; and his cherished grandchildren, Julianna, Shyanne and Mia.
A Memorial Service was held at the Smith Funeral Home in Chelsea. Committal Services are private.

Laurence Carroll, Sr.
30-year Polaroid supervisor; devoted family man with varied interests
Laurence R. Carroll Sr., a lifelong Revere resident, died on Thursday, January 29 at Mass General Hospital, Boston following an extended illness. He was 83 years old.
Born and raised in Revere, Larry attended local schools before enrolling at Everett Trade School to study machining. In 1952, he enlisted in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge in 1955, he returned home and married his sweetheart, Marilyn E. Kehoe. The couple settled in Revere and raised four children together.
Larry’s career began at Custom Auto Body, where his expertise in repairs led to work as an insurance adjuster. He subsequently joined Polaroid, where he spent over 30 years advancing to the position of supervisor before retiring.
He maintained membership in the Chelsea Yacht Club, Cary Square Club, VFW Post #940 and #6712.
Larry was a man of many passions. He cherished time on the ocean and his boat, was an accomplished fisherman, and took pride in his vegetable garden. Above all, his family held his deepest affection. He was a dedicated father and became a proud and loving grandfather, frequently expressing his love for his grandchildren.
He was the devoted husband of Marilyn E. (Kehoe) Carroll of Revere, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; loving father of Patricia A. Edris and her husband, Christopher H. of Bedford, Laurence R. Carroll, Jr. and his wife, Marjorie J. of Lynnfield, Christine M. Masiello and her husband, Revere Police Officer Anthony Masiello of Revere, and the late Marilyn J. Carroll; adored grandfather of Larry Carroll, Ryan Carroll, Joshua Carroll, Michaela Carroll and Madison Masiello; beloved brother of Alice Cerdone of Revere and the late Richard Carroll. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and numerous brothers and sisters in law.
Visiting hours were held on Thursday, February 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere. His funeral was conducted from the funeral home on Friday, February 6 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Breach St. & Winthrop Ave.) Revere. Elaine Stiller
Former Chelsea resident; creative and talented, held leadership positions in Winthrop organizations
Elaine L. (Brodie) Stiller, formerly of Chelsea, Winthrop and Framingham, passed away on January 29. She was 92 years old.
For many years, Elaine held a significant position in the family enterprise, H. Brodie Company. She assumed leadership roles in the Winthrop Chapter of Hadassah, the Winthrop Chapter of the American Jewish War Veterans, and the Young Couples Club at their Winthrop synagogue. A musician and creative spirit, Elaine played piano, sang, and wrote, directed and performed in musicals for her affiliated organizations.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Stiller; devoted mother of Mel Stiller and his wife, Jan Latorre-Stiller of Waltham, Lauren Rikleen and her husband, Sander Rikleen of Wayland, and Claire Newman and her husband, Joel Newman of Reading; loving sister to the late Sylvia Waterman and the late Private Melvin Brodie; cherished grandmother of Michael Stiller, Beth Parsons, Alex Rikleen and Ilyse Rikleen; and great-grandmother of Emma and Carly Stiller and Will and Luke Parsons.
Arrangements were handled by Levine Chapels, Brookline. Services were held at Temple Shir Tikva, Wayland with interment at Ahavath Achim Anshe Sfard Cemetery, Lynn.
