A team of volunteers from Chelsea assisted the City-Wide Tenant Association (CTA) in organizing a Mother’s Day celebration last Friday, May 8. Gladys Vega, director of the Chelsea Collaborative, helped coordinate makeovers for mothers in the program, including Mildred Valentin, president of Margolis Tenants Council. This marks the second consecutive year the initiative has been held to celebrate mothers.
The event brought together elderly, disabled, and homebound women—many of whom have limited contact with family or friends—to receive complimentary services from volunteers.
