First Jewish Nursing Home Wedding

Chelsea, Massachusetts

Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home celebrated a historic milestone on Friday, July 10, when it hosted its first wedding in the facility’s 96-year history. The occasion brought together family members to witness the marriage of Kevin and Sharon, with the groom’s mother, 91-year-old resident Rose Stetson, finally able to attend her son’s wedding at her own home within the nursing home.

Sharon’s father, who had become a Life Minister, officiated the ceremony. The wedding party included the bride’s daughter, Lexie, serving as Maid of Honor, and the couple’s grandson, Tim, as Best Man. Residents and staff of Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home gathered to share in what proved to be a meaningful family celebration, with Rose Stetson pictured at the altar alongside Kevin and Sharon, as well as with her grandchildren.
