ALLEGED DRUG DEALER ARRESTED
Chelsea Police announced the apprehension of Angelo Ciocco, 58, of Revere, who faces charges including Trafficking in Cocaine and related offenses. Through controlled purchases and close surveillance of multiple transactions across the city, detectives working in the Drug Control Unit obtained a search warrant for Ciocco’s Revere residence on July 1.
The search yielded 450 Grams of Cocaine and more than $10,000 in cash. Additionally, law enforcement seized two vehicles that had been used in the criminal enterprise.
Ciocco appeared for arraignment in Chelsea District Court.
SHOOTING INCIDENT ON MARLBOROUGH STREET
Officers responded at 5:55 a.m. on July 6 to Broadway at Marlborough Street following reports of a shooting victim.
Upon reaching the scene, responding officers found no injured party present.
According to witness accounts, two males were observed engaged in a physical altercation—one dressed in a black shirt and black shorts, the other in a white shirt. Witnesses reported hearing what sounded like gunfire. One witness stated that the male in black fired at the male in white, who was fleeing from the shooter. After calling 9-1-1, the witness maintained visual contact with the shooter. Despite an extensive search of nearby hospitals and the surrounding area, no victim was located.
Officers spotted and detained the suspected shooter at the scene. No firearm was recovered despite a thorough search of the area.
Ramon Valdez-Sanchez, 30, of 43 Eleanor St., was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, burning land/tree, carrying a dangerous weapon, possessing a firearm silencer, carrying a loaded firearm without a permit, firearm violation with three prior violent/drug crimes, possessing ammo without a permit, possession of a firearm without a permit (2nd offense), and assault and battery.
ARREST FOLLOWS ‘SNITCH’ REMARK
Officers were dispatched to 74 Spencer Ave. at 1:41 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, responding to an assault report. Additional dispatch information indicated potential suspects were fleeing the location. While personnel attended to victims and gathered witness statements, other officers apprehended a suspect and returned him for identification purposes. Observing the witnesses cooperating with police, the suspect began directing threatening language at them, repeatedly shouting that they were “snitches” and verbally attacking them for their cooperation with law enforcement.
The arrest occurred on scene following a struggle, with the suspect taken into custody.
Maslah Ibrahim, 23, of Kingston, was charged with disorderly conduct and intimidating/harrassing a witness.
POLICE TO SPONSOR CHILD FINGERPRINTING JULY 27
Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes disclosed plans for the Chelsea Police to organize two upcoming community events targeting children and elderly residents.
From 4-6 p.m. on Monday, July 27, the Police will operate at the Chelsea Public Library offering child fingerprinting and identification services. This initiative helps parents and guardians protect their children through identification records. Fingerprinting can take place at the library or in the home, with families retaining all information. The police department will not maintain copies of the prints or kits.

Police are also introducing SafetyNew Service, a separate program designed for elderly residents that will debut separately from the library event.
This program assists law enforcement in locating and rescuing elderly individuals who become lost or wander throughout the city. SafetyNew by Lojack offers protection for residents with autism and Alzheimer’s Disease. The CPD has completed training and received certification in the SafetyNet service. Officers carry specialized search and rescue equipment enabling them to locate enrolled program participants who go missing.
Emergency support through Lojack operates 24-hours a day.
Participants wear bracelets on the wrist or ankle that transmit a detectable signal. Chelsea Police can identify the bracelet signal from up to one-mile away during search operations.
