Diana Russo
Of Revere, formerly of Chelsea
On December 20, Diana (Cardone) Russo of Revere passed away. She had previously lived in Chelsea for many years.
A lifelong Chelsea resident and devoted member of St. Anthony’s Ladies Sodality, Diana was the daughter of Vito and Vilma (Rizzo) Cardone, both deceased. She was married to the late Thomas A. and is survived by her daughters Nancy Ramey and Kathy Ramey, both residing in Revere. Her siblings include Betty Addivinolo of East Boston, Margie Mamur of Revere, and Lawrence Cardone of Chelsea. Additionally, she leaves behind one granddaughter, Nicole McCloy, along with Nicole’s husband Josh; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services took place on Wednesday, December 23 at 9 a.m. at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, with a Funeral Mass following at 10 a.m. in St Anthony’s Church. Michael Lush, Jr.
Video game pro; worked in property maintenance
Michael L. Lush, Jr., a Chelsea resident, died suddenly at his home on December 13.
A 33-year-old native of Melrose, Michael was a Northeast Vocational High School graduate who worked in property maintenance and was known for his video game expertise.
His parents were Michael L. Lush, Sr. and Lillian T. Madigan. He is remembered as a devoted son and beloved brother to Amanda Lanceleve and her husband Steven of Haverhill. His grandparents included Margaret C. “Connie” Madigan of Revere, Albert Lush of Chelsea, and the late John Madigan and Juanita Lush. Surviving family members also include his nephew Aaron, niece Mila, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Smith Funeral Home in Chelsea handled arrangements, with committal services held privately. Charlie Smith
Auto enthusiast
Charlie Smith, age 61, of West Ossipee, NH, died unexpectedly at his home on December 11. He had previously lived in New Hampshire, Chelsea, and Lynn.
Born to the late James and Muriel (Christie) Smith, Charlie spent his formative years in Lynn and Chelsea. In 1972, he graduated from Lynn Classical High, where he participated in the track team competing in long distance running and shot put.
From an early age, Charlie possessed a talent for automotive work. Throughout his career, he was employed at numerous car dealerships and operated his own repair shop. He frequently attended swap meets and car shows with his sons. Beyond the garage, Charlie worked as a bartender where he earned a reputation for his cribbage skills. He bowled on a league for many years and maintained membership in the Mount Carmel Masonic Lodge of Lynn for three decades.
Charlie leaves his wife Cheryl (Curtis) Smith of West Ossipee, NH; his sons Charles C. with wife Ashleigh of New York City and Nicholas R. with wife Jen of Billerica; three grandchildren including Kaylee Fone, Emma, and baby Nick; stepsons Derek MacIver with girlfriend Tanya Matthewson and Logan Flynn of Madison, NH; stepdaughter Kelly MacIver with boyfriend John Elliot and grandson Jack Ducker of Madison, NH. His extended family includes sister Eleanor and her husband John (Jackie) Josefowitch of Chelsea; brothers James (Jimmy) with wife Linda of Chelsea and George with wife Linda of Lynn; mother-in-law Virginia Curtis of Marblehead; sister-in-law Rene and her husband Merle McCartney of Newark, DE; longtime friends Stevie and Marie St. John of Deltona, Florida; close friend Fran Thomas and his family of Madison, NH; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. His pets Stanley, Malcolm, and Benny also survive him.
Special recognition goes to Dr. Beverly Bowker, Dr. Lillian MoyYee, and Dr. Kenneth Miller for their years of devoted care.
In his memory, contributions may be directed to the Neely House @ Tufts Hospital, Boston, MA or the Conway Area Humane Society, Conway, NH. The Lord Funeral Home at 50 Moultonville Rd, Center Ossipee, NH managed the arrangements.

Alice Rose Dean
Of Florida, formerly of Chelsea
Alice Rose Dean, age 94, passed away on December 13 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Originally from Somerville, Alice had recently relocated to Fort Pierce, having moved there six months prior from Chelsea.
She gave her time as a volunteer at Sancta Maria Hospital in Cambridge and was a practicing Catholic.
Her daughter Judy Dean of Fort Pierce, FL survives her, along with her sister Marilyn Seward of Arlington and nieces Kati Bell and Jessica Bell and nephew Joshua Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Dean and her sister Barbara Fisher of Arlington.
