The Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, has awarded the Chelsea Cultural Council $18,300. These funds are designated to support public initiatives that advance access, education, diversity and excellence in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences.
On Monday, September 26, members of the Council will be on hand from 1:30-5:00pm in the lobby of the Williams Building at 180 Walnut Street to review grant procedures and guidelines with interested parties.
Individuals, schools and organizations are welcome to submit applications for grant funding. Eligible projects may encompass a range of artistic and cultural endeavors benefiting Chelsea residents—such as performances and arts residencies in schools, field trips, exhibits, festivals, cultural workshops and lectures. All funded projects must take place between January and December 31, 2017.
Applications—whether submitted online or on paper—must arrive by October 17, 2016. Paper applications must be postmarked by that same date.
The Online Application can be accessed through www.mass-culture.org/chelsea. Those preferring a Paper Application may obtain one at Chelsea City Hall, Department of Health & Human Services, Room 100, or download it from www.chelseama.gov/ccc. Questions may be directed to (617) 466-4090 or [email protected].
