STABBED IN FRACAS
A large street fight erupted near 52 Springvale Ave. on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2:18 a.m., prompting officers to respond. Upon arrival, the first officer spotted a shirtless male running toward a gray BMW. Approximately 15 people stood in the street, pointing and shouting that the man fleeing to the vehicle was armed with a knife and had stabbed someone. The officer positioned his cruiser to block the BMW, bringing it to a halt. When he exited the vehicle, the crowd continued to approach, repeating their warnings about the armed suspect.
Additional officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. The stabbing victim was present at the scene and received treatment for serious, though not life-threatening, stab wounds to his arm and leg before being transported to MGH Boston.
Ivam Fortes, 29, of Randolph, was charged with armed assault to murder, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), assault and battery, carrying a dangerous weapon disorderly conduct, assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime.
GONNA GET IT?
Three Hispanic males confronted a victim in Chelsea Square on Weds., October 5, at approximately 9 p.m., according to an officer’s report. The victim told officers that the men told him that he was, “Going to get it.”
The shortest of the three then produced what appeared to be a brown wooden gun handle and informed the victim he was fortunate to be standing in front of the Police Station. The victim reported seeing the group head toward the Western Union on Williams Street. Officers searched the area, and the victim identified the three suspects when they were spotted. All three were taken into custody.
Eduardo Hernandez, 22, of 47 Williams St.; Luis Argueta-Luna, 22, of 63 Marlborough St.; and a 17-year-old Juvenile from Lynn; were all charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm).
ARRESTED FOR COMMERCIAL BREAK ATTEMPT
A CPD officer on patrol observed a male in a black hooded sweatshirt striking the window panel of the side door at City Line Convenience, 571 Broadway, on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2:19 a.m. The suspect fled down Library Street to evade the officer. Additional CPD units responded and apprehended the subject near City Hall.
Edwin Ibanez, 28, of 589 Broadway, was charged with breaking and entering in the night for a felony, resisting arrest, malicious destruction of property over $250, and possession of a Class B drug.
FOUND WITH FIREARM
Officers on patrol spotted two male parties in the area of Chester Avenue and Shurtleff Street on Weds., October 5, at 3:30 a.m. One was a short Hispanic male in a baseball cap, blue sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other wore a red and black sweatshirt and black sweatpants. Department email had previously alerted officers that one of these individuals had two felony default warrants. That subject was arrested and a firearm was recovered.
The second male identified during the Wednesday morning incident was subsequently arrested on the same firearm charges.
Tito Ebanks-Lopez, 27, of 66 Shawmut St., was charged with possession of a firearm without a permit, possession of ammo without a permit and two warrants.
Demond Steele, 37, of 80 Everett Ave., was charged with firearm violation with three prior violent/drug crimes, carrying a loaded firearm without a permit, possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of ammo without a permit.
