Breaking and entering charges resulted in the arrest of Leonardo Escobar, 44, residing at 92 Chester Ave., Chelsea, on a misdemeanor charge.
Matthew Graves, 25, of 4 Parkway Ct., Chelsea, was taken into custody for assault and battery involving a dangerous weapon.
Saturday, 2/18
An arrest was made of Marvin Sanchez, 34, at 751 Broadway, Chelsea, for driving with a suspended license.
Cristian Bamaca Gomez, 32, from 72 Camden in Lynn, was arrested on multiple charges: unlicensed motor vehicle operation, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and outstanding warrants.

David Riley, 41, of 325 Commandants Way, Chelsea, was arrested on a probation warrant.
Monday, 2/20
Chazz Campbell, 32, residing at 55 Jermone St., Medford, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice and on warrants.
Tuesday, 2/21
Warrants led to the arrest of Douglas Murphy, 47, of 39 Boylston St., Boston.
Heidi King, 35, from 889 Harrison Ave., Boston, was arrested on warrants as well.
Wednesday, 2/22
Ramon Pagan, 55, of 444 Harrison Ave., Boston, faced arrest for trespassing.
An arrest warrant resulted in the apprehension of Daniel Reardon, 33, of 11 Newton St., Malden.
Kamaya Farikafi, 23, of 133 Marlborough St., Chelsea, was arrested for murder.
Quintavius Smith, 22, from 85 Blossom St., Chelsea, was arrested for receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
Jainie Lopez-Spencer, 19, of 139 Marlborough St., Chelsea, was arrested for receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
Multiple charges including receiving a stolen motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, and outstanding warrants resulted in the arrest of Wexell Neal, 21, of 125 Marlborough St., Chelsea.

Skyla Bustamante, 20, from 194 Garfield Ave., Revere, was arrested for receiving stolen property valued over $250.
Saturday, 2/25
Kevin Rosales, 24, homeless in Chelsea, was arrested on an immigration detainer and for unarmed burglary.
Alcino Sobrinho, 36, of 21 Medford St., Malden, faced arrest for unlicensed motor vehicle operation and speeding.
An outstanding warrant led to the arrest of Osman Ishag, 40, of 63 Ingalls St., Lynn.
Anna Andrades, 54, residing at 748 Broadway, Chelsea, was arrested for trespassing.

NO BAIL IN FATAL CHELSEA BEATING
Following his apprehension in Ohio, a Chelsea man accused of fatally beating 32-year-old Melvin Cortes with a baseball bat was arraigned last Thursday, Feb. 23, on a murder charge.
Without bail, Kamaya Farikafi, 33, of Chelsea, was ordered held. A court date of March 14 has been scheduled for his return.
According to Assistant District Attorney Lynn Feigenbaum’s account to the court, the Everett resident Cortes sustained severe injuries from a baseball bat attack on the evening of Feb. 5 near Congress Avenue and Shurtleff Street. The injuries ultimately proved fatal when Cortes died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Feb. 11.
Following the assault, Chelsea Police detectives and State Troopers from Conley’s office gathered evidence through witness interviews, surveillance footage from nearby locations, and physical evidence collection. This investigative work led to an arrest warrant for Farikafi. With support from the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and subsequently the US Marshals, Farikafi was located and arrested on Feb. 15 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He agreed to waive extradition and returned to Massachusetts on Feb. 22.

DEPORTED MAN RETURNS, BREAKS INTO HOME
Previously deported from Chelsea in 2014, a man returned to the city and was arrested for burglary on Feb. 22.
The man was subject to an immigration detainer from the federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which was expected to assume custody for deportation proceedings.
According to Chief Brian Kyes, this particular detainer and deportation process were routine felony deportations unrelated to any newly issued executive orders affecting which crimes trigger detainers.
At 11:35 p.m. on Feb. 22, police responded to 25 Chester Ave. after receiving a report of a home intrusion. The resident reported that a man she had previously observed near her residence entered through the rear door and began searching her drawers. Upon noticing him, she frightened him away, and he exited through the same back door. Officers discovered the suspect crouching by trash bins in the exterior alley.
After positive identification as the intruder, the suspect was taken into custody. A subsequent check revealed the subject had an ICE wanted status.
Kevin Rosales, who is homeless, was charged with unarmed burglary and an immigration detainer.
STOLEN VEHICLE
Near Broadway and Crescent Avenue, officers conducted a traffic stop at 9:43 p.m. on Feb. 22 after discovering a blue 2017 Toyota Rav4 with a stolen registration. The driver and passengers were identified, and following investigation, all were arrested and transported to headquarters.

Wexell Neal, 21, of 125 Marlborough St., was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, and two warrants.
WARRANT FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE
Officers observed a male subject with a warrant near Spruce Street and Washington Avenue on Feb. 22 at 9:47 a.m. and detained him in front of 166 Washington Ave. When questioned, he provided a false identity, but officers recognized him and made an arrest.
An additional outstanding warrant from Hillsboro County, New Hampshire was discovered, resulting in an added charge of fugitive from justice.
Chazz Campbell, 32, of Medford, was charged with being a fugitive from justice and two warrants.
