Chelsea high school students can experience Boston Red Sox baseball at Fenway Park this summer for less than a movie ticket costs. Through the Red Sox Student 9’s program, high school and college students have the chance to buy $9 tickets with a valid student ID at all home games.
“We want to make sure that this new generation of fans finds Fenway Park accessible, affordable, and enjoyable. It’s essential to the future of our game,” according to Red Sox President Sam Kennedy. “We introduced the student 9’s to remove cost as a barrier for students, and allow for the spontaneity of deciding to come to a game last minute. Students can now come to Fenway Park for less than the cost of a movie ticket and with little advance planning.”
The Student 9’s represent Fenway Park’s most affordable ticket option and include guaranteed standing room access, with the possibility of an upgrade if seats become available.
Students can register for student offers by visiting redsox.com/student or texting ‘students’ to 23215 to receive alerts whenever they choose.
Mobile devices or the Ballpark App will deliver student tickets. Upon arriving at the ballpark gates, students can scan their ticket directly from their phone and should present their student ID for verification purposes.
The Student 9’s program falls under the Red Sox’ “Calling All Kids” initiative, which works to introduce baseball to younger fans. Calling All Kids seeks to expand access to Red Sox games, improve the experience for kids at Fenway Park and promote baseball throughout the community.
