Robert H Bishop Announces his Candidacy for District One City Council

Chelsea, Massachusetts

Robert H Bishop has recently announced his candidacy for the District One City Councillor position in the upcoming City Primary Election scheduled for September 26, 2017.

Before retiring, Bishop served as Chelsea City Clerk for fifteen years and also worked as Chief Procurement Officer for the City of Chelsea. Additionally, he spent fourteen years owning and operating a small business within the city.

According to Bishop, his motivation for seeking this office stems from his commitment to community improvement, his availability to dedicate the necessary time, and his background that positions him to deliver optimal outcomes for residents and taxpayers.

Among his priorities will be tackling the recent escalation of taxes, property values, and water and sewer rates. On this matter, Bishop stated, “I have been involved as a department head in 25 of the last 30 city budgets. I know the budge process and how to do what needs to be done for the taxpayers and residents of District One.”

Bishop has noted that voter participation in local elections has unfortunately declined in recent years. He encourages all voters to participate in the primary election on September 26, 2017, and remains dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of the city’s homeowners and residents.
