My campaign for District 5 City Councillor has given me the chance to engage with many residents about what you envision for our district. These interactions have consistently shown me that the people of our city represent our most valuable resource.

From Beacon Street to Ash, Cottage, Chester Avenue, and Lynn Streets, residents share a unified dedication to strengthening our community and district.

As a homeowner and community activist for more than 20 years, I have been deeply invested in Chelsea’s direction and future.

Through my activism alongside concerned neighbors, we achieved a 25 miles per hour speed limit throughout the city. Working with City Hall and partners, we also raised street levels to address resident safety concerns. My commitment to a healthier and cleaner Chelsea has been demonstrated through my involvement with the Chelsea Enhancement Team, Chelsea Shines, the Beautification Committee, and my support of Green Roots. These efforts have resulted in visible improvements to the city, better air quality, and greater property maintenance by both homeowners and business owners.

Much work remains for our district. During my eight years on the Planning Board, I have focused on preventing displacement of long-term residents. I am also committed to ensuring that new developments include fair and adequate affordable housing in terms of both rental price and percentage of units.

The recent Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance of 30, 50, 80 will help guarantee housing for our residents. As we work through the Re-Imaging process of the Downtown Business District, housing is critically needed in this area. I will work to prevent Chelsea from becoming unaffordable for those who wish to live here.

Fiscal responsibility at City Hall and across all departments remains a priority. I am dedicated to collaborating with each department during budget hearings to identify cost savings for residents.

I am seeking this office to represent you at City Hall. District 5 needs a leader prepared to serve from Day 1, someone committed to the district and ready to vote in your interest.

Our district deserves a councillor invested in leading our city forward. I believe Chelsea stands at the threshold of significant opportunity. As residents, we have the chance to seize this moment and advance together. As your District 5 city councillor, I will dedicate myself to rebuilding our city and equipping our young residents with the tools needed to achieve their goals. My commitment to working for you will never waver.

If you share this vision for our city—one built on collaboration, growth, affordable housing, safer and cleaner neighborhoods, and developing future leaders—I encourage you to join our campaign.

Please vote for Henry David Wilson on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
