During the Lewis Latimer Society’s Chelsea Science Festival at PORT Park on Friday afternoon, Aug. 10, Khalani Gonzalez looked through a prism, watching light bend and scatter in multiple directions. The festival drew numerous children eager to explore different scientific topics and community engagement opportunities, ranging from fire safety and mosquito biology to 3-D printing and the perennial favorite among young attendees: slime-making. The beautiful summer weather contributed to what organizers considered another highly successful gathering.
