LIQUOR STORE DRAMA

A Chelsea police officer working the Bellingham Square area on foot responded to Heller’s Liquor Mart located at 429 Broadway on November 26 around 7:23 p.m. following a call about customer harassment. When the officer arrived, the suspect remained inside the establishment. The individual was observed displaying aggressive behavior—both verbally and physically—with an apparent readiness to engage in combat. The officer worked to de-escalate the situation, but the male adopted a fighting stance, shifting his weight repeatedly. He then lunged at the officer. Multiple officers eventually arrived at the scene, subdued the individual, and placed him under arrest.

Everett resident Jaime Abreu, age 39, received charges including assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery.

BACK AND FORTH

Officers arrived at 59 Central Ave. on November 30 at 1:59 a.m. in response to a 9-1-1 hang-up initiated by a woman. The female was observed behaving irrationally—repeatedly getting into and out of a motor vehicle. When officers requested her license and registration due to her operation of the vehicle on a public roadway, she declined to comply. Believing she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs based on her conduct, the officers made multiple requests for identification and obedience to their instructions. The female resisted throughout the encounter, continuing to struggle even as she was taken into custody and transported to the station for processing.

Cambridge resident Jill Ferreira, 47 years old, faced charges of intimidating a witness, motor vehicle operator refusing to identify, and resisting arrest.
