This will mark the eighth consecutive year that the Girl Scouts of Chelsea are organizing the Memorial Day Commemoration, which begins with a Parade proceeding up Broadway to City Hall. An official ceremony is scheduled to commence at 9 a.m. at that location.
On May 27, the Girl Scouts will begin their parade march at 8:15 a.m., departing from the parking lot of Welsh Funeral Home located at 718 Broadway.
The front lawn of City Hall will host the Ceremony, which will include the presentation of wreaths, performances by the award-winning Chelsea High Concert Band, and student essays from local schools.
While the Parade aims to honor all those who have served and made sacrifices for the nation, community organizations are also welcome to participate in the march. Those interested in joining or seeking additional information about the Parade should contact (617) 466-4250.
