Under Governor Deval Patrick’s leadership, Massachusetts has emerged as a national model for educational excellence. The state has achieved distinction as a premier destination for students and children seeking quality education at every stage of their academic journey.
Early childhood education has been elevated to a central focus of the Governor’s administration. His visit to CAPIC headquarters on Crescent Avenue marked the announcement that the Department of Education and Care (EEC) has expanded services reaching more than 3,200 children throughout Massachusetts.
Chelsea residents have witnessed firsthand how crucial it is to establish strong educational roots in early childhood. This reality is evident both in CAPIC’s success—guided with skill and dedication by Executive Director Robert Repucci—and through the John Silber Early Child Learning Center located at the Shurtleff School.
Governor Patrick deserves recognition for prioritizing education throughout his seven years leading the Commonwealth. His own educational path reflects this commitment: he earned a scholarship to Milton Academy, subsequently attended Harvard University and Harvard Law School, served as United States Assistant Attorney General during the Clinton Administration, and was elected the state’s chief executive in 2006.
