Arbor Day in Chelsea

Chelsea, Massachusetts

On Arbor Day last Friday, April 24, DCR workers Eber Rivera, Jean Valentin, and James Kane, from left to right, lifted a tree into its new location at the Burke School Complex in Chelsea. The event drew several state and local officials, including state Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Matthew Beaton, who joined the tree planting initiative. As part of a state Pilot program launched last year, Chelsea has planted approximately 780 trees so far, with a long-term goal of planting 3,000 trees over the next five years.
