Hazel Ruth Brown
Former longtime Chelsea resident
Hazel Ruth (Allen) Brown, 89, died Sunday afternoon, August 23 at Winchester Hospital with her family at her side.
A native of North Attleborough, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe B. and Inez L. (Story) Allen. For the past year, Hazel lived in North Reading at the Meadowview Nursing Care Center. Previously, she had been a longtime Chelsea resident where she maintained her home and raised three children. During her working years, Hazel served as a ticket vendor at the Revere Flea Market for 15 years.
Hazel is survived by her devoted children: Carol Ann Pace of Woburn, Dorothy R. Connolly and her husband Steven of Reading, and the late William J. Brown, Jr. She was the dear sister of Edith Colella and her husband Edward of Chelsea, Mildred Savard of New Hampshire, and the late Olin Allen and Helen Pizzano. She was also sister-in-law to the late Pauline Allen, Wallace Savard and Henry Pizzano. Her family also includes two grandsons, Frank Pace and his wife Nadia of Peabody and Paul Pace and his wife Jessica of Stoneham; three great granddaughters, Francesca, Alessia and Milania Pace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per the family’s wishes, funeral services and interment will be held privately. The Carafa Family Funeral Home in Chelsea is handling arrangements.
