JURY DEADLOCKS AGAIN
Late Monday, a Suffolk Superior Court jury announced it was deadlocked in the case against Felix Melendez, 38, who faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with the July 2013 death of his landlady, 88-year-old Hilda Devincenzo, in her Chelsea apartment.
A prior jury had convicted him of armed robbery but similarly could not reach a verdict on the murder charge. The matter will be scheduled for retrial at a future court date.

On Tuesday, March 8, Chelsea Police took a Division Street resident into custody following allegations that he attacked a woman during an altercation over a blanket.
The victim reported that around 9:41 p.m. on March 7 at 91 Burma Rd., the man assaulted her as they disputed who owned the blanket. She sustained significant injuries in the incident and was taken to Whidden Hospital.
The following day, authorities located and arrested the man at his residence.
Christmas Pierre, 27, of 73 Division St., faces charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and three counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
SPEAKING OF A SPEAKER
A Revere woman was arrested on Friday after allegedly causing serious damage to an intercom system at a Tudor Street apartment building.
Officers responded to 48 Tudor St. after receiving a report of two women fighting on the sidewalk.
The apartment’s resident told police that the Revere woman had destroyed her intercom.
After documenting the damage, police arrested the woman.
Meghan Mastrangelo, 34, of Revere, was charged with malicious destruction of property over $250, disorderly conduct and two warrants.
RIFLE SEIZED DURING DRUG BUST
A loaded rifle was confiscated following a major drug operation on Clark Avenue on Friday, March 11.
Investigators had been looking into drug distribution activity at 76 Clark Ave. and executed a search warrant in the afternoon. Officers discovered a rifle and ammunition during their search.
Michael Stewart, 32, of 76 Clark Ave., was charged with possession of a Class A drug, possession of a rifle without a permit (subsequent offense), improperly storing a rifle, possession of ammunition without a permit (subsequent offense), armed career criminal, fugitive from justice and one warrant.
Christyna Bidder, 31, of Revere, was charged with conspiracy.
