Devoted to home and family
At Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, Maureen (Graves) Grant succumbed to a brief illness on June 29, with rapid health deterioration following. She had reached 71 years of age.
A Chelsea native and daughter of the late CFD Deputy Chief Leo B. Graves, Sr. and Lillian P. (Auld) Graves, Maureen attended local schools before graduating from Chelsea High School. Her education continued at Merrimack College and Cardinal Cushing College, the latter institution awarding her a bachelor’s degree in accounting. During the mid-1970s, she moved to the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston where she raised three daughters while working as a bookkeeper at Turner Fisheries on the Boston Fish Pier. Her professional career concluded at the Judge Baker Children Center in Boston.
Maureen returned to Chelsea in 1998, residing with her father in their Garfield Avenue family home. She had retired 14 years prior and spent her most recent seven years as an engaged resident of Admiral Towers co-op, serving as treasurer for a period of that time.
Following her father’s example, she served for many years as a local Voting Poll Worker and Poll Clerk, participating in numerous city, state and federal elections throughout her life.
Her lifetime centered on devotion to family and home, treasuring moments with her grandchildren. She maintained a lifelong enthusiasm for the Red Sox and was an ardent NE Patriots and Tom Brady supporter.
Three daughters survive her: Holly Herring, Shelby Grant and Courtney Amoroso, all of Boston, along with siblings Lillian P. Fitzgerald of Peabody, Leo B. Graves, Jr. of Tennessee and Denise M. Graves of Chelsea. Her grandchildren are Katelynn Schmoker, Maureen Caruso, David Caruso and Jenna Caruso. Funeral services commenced today, Thursday July 7 at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, with a Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St., Chelsea. Interment concluded at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Barbara Noseworthy
Often volunteered at First Congregational Church in Chelsea
A longtime Everett resident, Barbara H. (McNeil) Noseworthy passed away Thursday morning, June 30 at her daughter’s home in New Hampshire at the age of 92.
Raised and born in Chelsea to the late George and Irene (Hughes) McNeil, Barbara worked during World War II at the former Everlastic Factory in Chelsea producing supplies intended for overseas servicemen. Subsequently, she was employed at the former Homer’s Bakery in Everett, currently operating as Elm St. Bakery, for a 12-year period before transitioning to homemaking and family care. The Noseworthy family made Everett their long-term residence.
Barbara was married to the late Edward Noseworthy, Sr., and they maintained their union for 59 years until his death in 2003. Leisure activities included bingo, membership in the Saugus Senior Center, and volunteer work often performed at the First Congregational Church in Chelsea. Her cherished moments were spent with family and friends, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Her surviving family includes devoted son Edward Noseworthy, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Revere, and daughter Diane Greenwell and her husband James of Gilford, NH. She was preceded by siblings George McNeil and Bertha Toce. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Carole Rocha and her husband Brian, Kim Misci and her husband Bryan, Edward Noseworthy III, Barbara Greenwell and her life partner Michael Rutherford, Susan Clark and her husband Scott and Julie Phipps; nine great-grandchildren: Madison, Reileigh, Reese and Gavin Clark, James and Robert Phipps, Evan and Aubrey Rocha and Miles Misci, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
The Carafa Family Funeral Home, Chelsea hosted funeral services. Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett received her remains. In Barbara’s memory, donations may be directed to the Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice 780 North Main St. Laconia, NH 03246 in lieu of flowers.

Marie Watt
Of Rowley, formerly of Revere and Chelsea
Surrounded by family at her Rowley home on July 6, Marie P. (Langone) Watt, formerly residing in Revere and Chelsea, passed away at age 75.
Her career included work as a former secretary for John Hancock Insurance Co.
Born to the late Francis and Angelina (Williams) in Revere, Marie was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Her children include Joseph Watt of New Hampshire and Pamela Medeiros, Ronald and Steven Watt, all of Rowley. Preceding her were siblings Linda Ronga, Phyllis Caserta, Ralph Langone, Frank Langone, Charles Langone and Robert Langone. Three grandchildren remain: Jessica, Brian and Joseph, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will take place Friday, July 8 at 11 a.m. in St Anthony’s Church (Revere). Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted. Evelyn Flammio
Lifelong Chelsea resident
Evelyn G. Flammio died on Wednesday, June 29 at Wingate of Melrose (Epoch Nursing Home) at the age of 100 years.
Born in Boston to the late Pasquale and Elizabeth (Liucci) Flammio, one of six children, Evelyn spent her entire life as a Chelsea resident, primarily in the family home on Lewis Street in the Mill Hill neighborhood. Local schools provided her education, and she subsequently worked at Forbes Lithograph to help support her family. Her professional years also included employment as secretary and office clerk with local dentist Dr. Hoffman DDS.
Remaining unmarried, Evelyn devoted herself to her home and parents while serving as a longtime caregiver for her brother, Carmine “Carli” Flammio. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her five siblings:; Mary T. DelVisco, Elizabeth G. Peavyhouse, Thomas, “Carli” and James Flammio. Several devoted nieces and nephews survive her: Betty Flammio, Thomas Flammio, James Flammio, Kenneth Peavyhouse and Emily Surrette, alongside numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
The Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, Chelsea arranged her services. Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett received her remains.

Kathleen Santoro
Of Wilmington, formerly of Chelsea
Following a prolonged illness, Kathleen F. (Madigan) Santoro of Wilmington, formerly of Chelsea, died at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on June 30 at age 65.
A Chelsea native until relocating to Wilmington 20 years ago, Kathleen served as teller supervisor for Bank of America at their State Street branch, a position she held for over 25 years.
She was the devoted wife of Nicholas J. Santoro, Jr. and beloved mother of Barbara Santoro-Leneski and her husband Michael of Lakeworth, FL and Nicholas J. Santoro, III and his wife Katie of Tewksbury. Her parents were Constance Madigan of Revere and the late John E. Madigan, Sr. Her siblings include Connie Rossetti of Revere, Clare Arsenault of Everett, Loretta DiCresce of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel Madigan of Peabody, Lillian Madigan of Revere and the late John E. Madigan, Jr. Nicholas J. Santoro, IV represents her grandchild, and she is also lovingly survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
