Those operating vehicles bear a responsibility to remain vigilant during these evening hours to prevent any unfortunate incidents from taking place.
The emphasis on safety must extend to everyone—motorists navigating our roads and pedestrians walking our streets alike. Those traveling on foot need to exercise good judgment, particularly when accompanying young children who may be anxious to rush from one house to the next in search of candy.
Parents of teenagers should also establish firm guidelines regarding their participation in Halloween festivities and evening activities, particularly since the holiday falls on a school night this year.
Halloween does not excuse parents from their duty to make certain their teenagers know the importance of returning home at an appropriate time and avoiding any inappropriate behavior.
