Chelsea Seeks Applicants for Youth Commission

Chelsea, Massachusetts

Chelsea’s municipal government is now recruiting applicants for its newly reestablished Youth Commission. The Commission’s members will provide counsel and support to the City Council, School Committee, and City Manager as they create policies, initiatives, and services aimed at promoting the wellbeing of young people and families in Chelsea.

The Youth Commission will have eleven appointed members, each serving a one-year term. To apply, candidates must be Chelsea residents aged 13 to 20 who are presently attending high school. City Manager Tom Ambrosino will make the appointments, subject to City Council approval.

The ideal Youth Commission member brings a results-oriented perspective and genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the community. Meetings are held once monthly on Monday evenings, with additional sessions as circumstances warrant. Those seeking appointment should demonstrate serious commitment to creating positive change in Chelsea.
