At 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, as the sun set over the Charlestown Navy Yard, crew members aboard the USCGC Eagle lowered the colors following a cannon blast from the USS Constitution. This official Sail Boston Sunset Salute drew hundreds of visitors to the Town. The Coast Guard Ship USCGC Eagle remained docked at the Charlestown Navy Yard throughout Sail Boston, setting sail on the morning of June 22. The international event, hosted jointly by Sail Boston and the National Parks, welcomed thousands of visitors during the previous weekend and the early part of this week.
