On Wednesday, July 12 at noon, the inaugural Chelsea Lunch initiative launched on the City Hall Lawn to considerable success. Despite rain in the forecast, the weather cooperated, and the event drew both residents and business owners. The program runs weekly on Wednesdays from noon to 2 p.m. Downtown Coordinator Mimi Graney noted that the turnout represented a strong mix of residents and area workers. By 1:30 p.m., food vendor Rhythm N Wraps had sold through their entire inventory.
“There were more than a few smiles and folks said they were excited to attend again next week,” Graney noted.
Beyond food offerings, the Chelsea Lunch Marketplace features informational booths, small retailers, and various other amenities for attendees.
