TRIED TO KILL POLICE OFFICER WITH CAR
A victim of a hit and run approached a CPD officer working a detail on Nov. 3 at 1:10 p.m. The officer was told that the victim had been struck by a vehicle at 280 Second St., which then fled the scene. After locating the suspect’s vehicle, the detail officer attempted to stop it using verbal commands from the roadway. The driver continued fleeing at high speed, forcing the officer to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. CPD units eventually stopped the vehicle, and the driver was taken into custody.
Marcio Mezabaca, 32, of 220 Broadway, faced charges including operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, failing to stop for police, assault to murder and resisting arrest.
STOLE CELL PHONE
At noon on Nov. 5, a CPD patrol officer observed a female known to the officer near Cherry Street and Everett Avenue in the company of a male. From a distance, the officer watched as the female pushed the victim and seized his cellphone. Upon noticing the officer, she fled but was apprehended a short distance away.
Meghan Mastrangelo, 36, of Revere, was charged with unarmed robbery.
ROBBED WITH BALL BAT
An armed robbery occurred on Oct. 26 at 5:59 p.m. at the Corner Market, 803 Broadway. According to the victim clerk, an unknown male wearing a ski mask entered the store, struck him with a wooden bat-style object, and fled with money, an unknown amount of $30 lottery tickets and cigarettes.
EMS treated the victim on scene for an abrasion on his left arm. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 45-47 years old and 5’8″ tall, wearing a black ski mask, black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, and gloves.

PROBLEM OUTSIDE RESTAURANT
Officers responded to a disturbance reported outside Chung Wah Restaurant at 460 Broadway on Nov. 1 at 6:19 p.m. A female who appeared intoxicated was observed engaging in boisterous behavior that disrupted pedestrian and traffic flow. Following investigation, she was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
Alisha Cohen, 38, of 36 Winthrop Rd., was charged with being disorderly and possession of an alcoholic beverage.
TEMPER, TEMPER
A male subject was arrested on Oct. 29 at 10:32 a.m. after breaking a window at the old Salvation Army Donation Center, located at 456 Broadway. An officer witnessed the male punch the window following what appeared to be an argument with an unknown female. He was taken into custody for malicious destruction of property.
Andrew Babigumira, 31, homeless, was charged with wanton destruction.
STABBED FOR DEALING DRUGS
Officers responded to a reported stabbing at 744 Broadway #2 on Oct. 29 at 5:05 p.m. Inside the apartment, they found a victim with minor lacerations to the hand. The victim explained that a dispute with his roommate had erupted over the roommate dealing narcotics from their apartment.
CPD officers located the suspect and placed him under arrest.
