Democrats registered in Chelsea will gather for a caucus on February 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Chelsea Library. The purpose is to select delegates and alternates who will represent the city at the 2018 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention.
The state convention takes place June 1-1 at the DCU Center in Worcester. At this gathering, Democrats from throughout Massachusetts will assemble to back Democratic nominees for statewide positions, including Constitutional Officers and gubernatorial hopefuls. All registered and pre-registered Democrats in Chelsea Wards 1, 2 & 4 are welcome to attend the caucus.
Pre-registered Democrats who will reach age 18 by September 18, 2018 are eligible to participate and seek election as a delegate or alternate.
Those from underrepresented groups—including youth, minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals—who do not win election as a delegate or alternate have the option to apply as an add-on delegate either at the caucus or through www.mass.dems.org.
