Gertrude (Florence) Bial, who had lived in Delray Beach, Florida after leaving Chelsea, Massachusetts, passed away on Jan. 30, 2018 at age 94.

A Chelsea native, Mrs. Bial was the daughter of Myer Israel and Fannie (Raisman) Florence, both deceased.
She completed her education at Chelsea High School in the Class of 1941, followed by studies at Fisher College and Secretarial School.
Mrs. Bial served as a volunteer at the Naval Ship Yard throughout World War II.
Her professional accomplishments included serving as president of B’nai Brith in Chelsea, holding the position of executive secretary at American Biltrite Corporation, and serving as co-owner of the Bial Upholstery Company in Boston alongside her late husband, Norman Bial.
She leaves behind three children: Louis C. Bial and his late wife Deborah, Roberta Pinta and her late husband Howard, and Scott N. Bial and his wife Lisa. Her grandchildren include Dr. Erica Bial and her husband Todd Chapin, Lauren Bial Schneider and her husband Eric, Matthew Bial and his wife Dr. Wendy Glaberson, Jennifer Pinta, Natalie Pinta and her husband Kevin Gonsalves, Adam J. Bial, Jason R. Bial, Jack F. Bial and Julia A. Bial. She was great-grandmother to Jacob, Nehemiah and Dayne Schneider and Jordan Bial. Her siblings include David Florence, Rosalie Cohen, the late Sylvia Sazinsky, Bernard Florence, Dr. Lewis Florence, Dr. Hyman Florence and Leonard Florence.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2018 at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel in Canton.

Mrs. Bial devoted herself to her family as a homemaker and cherished friend. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
