On Saturday, October 13, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., the Chelsea Fire Department is hosting a free Open House at 307 Chestnut St. Sponsored by Papa Gino’s, the event aims to educate families about fire safety and prevention.
The open house marks National Fire Safety week and will feature instruction on safety practices including “stop, drop and roll”. Families will learn how to plan escape routes and practice crawling safely through a smoke-filled room. Papa Gino’s, the Dedham, Mass.-based pizza chain, will distribute complimentary pizza and children’s fire safety activity sheets.

According to Chief Leonard Albanese, “This open house event allows us to reach out to the community and arm local families with fire safety tips and procedures,”
Papa Gino’s is marking its 24th anniversary of supporting fire safety open houses throughout New England, working to help families understand fire safety principles.
