MIDDLE SCHOOLER ARRESTED FOR KNIFE ATTACK
A juvenile male student was assaulted with a knife while traveling home from Browne Middle School on January 14, according to an investigation conducted by School Resource Officers. Officers responded and interviewed the victim, then identified and apprehended a 14-year-old male suspect shortly thereafter. The incident resulted in no injuries, and investigators did not recover a weapon. School safety remains an ongoing concern that officers continue to address with administrators.
The 14-year-old was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and assault and battery.
SCREAMING AT BUSES
An MBTA bus driver requested police assistance on Jan. 15 at approximately 11:33 p.m. after encountering a disruptive female passenger who was shouting at passing vehicles. When officers arrived, the woman began yelling obscenities at them. Her behavior escalated despite attempts at de-escalation, and she was arrested without incident.
Krysten Kulch, 32, of 58 Garfield Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct.
HEROIN DEALER FROM GARFIELD AVE BUSTED
Following complaints about drug activity in the Prattville area, detectives conducted an undercover operation on Thursday, Jan. 17. They arranged a controlled purchase from a suspect who agreed to sell narcotics at a predetermined location. When the suspect arrived and exchanged currency for what appeared to be heroin with an undercover officer, he was taken into custody without incident.
Jose Gonzalez, 48, 105 Garfield Ave., was charged with distribution of a Class A drug (heroin) and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
DRUG DEAL WITNESSED
A civilian reported witnessing a drug transaction in Bellingham Square, and officers responded based on the tip and their own observations. At the McDonalds in Bellingham Square, officers encountered two individuals and conducted an investigation that established probable cause. One subject faced charges for distribution of a Class C substance and had an outstanding warrant from Roxbury District Court. The second individual was identified, and criminal charges for possession of Class C are being pursued.
William Falasca, 34, of Medford, was charged with distribution of a Class C drug and one warrant.
