SHOTS FIRED MONDAY
Officers responded to the area surrounding 111 Bellingham St. on Feb. 11 at 9:01 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired. The ShotSpotter system detected seven shots in the vicinity. No injuries were reported, though detectives gathered ballistic evidence from the scene. Authorities continue gathering video footage from the area as they work to identify those responsible.
STABBING ON SHURTLEFF STREET
A 17-year-old male sustained a stab wound to his arm on Feb. 7 at 2:32 p.m. at the intersection of Shurtleff Street and Bellingham Street. The wound was determined to be non-life threatening, and the victim was discharged from the hospital the same day. CPD detectives looked into the matter and obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in connection with the attack. The Williams School was placed under a soft lockdown during the incident, which was lifted shortly thereafter. The investigation remains active as police search for the individual.
ARMED ROBBERY
An armed robbery occurred at 200 Congress Ave. on Feb. 4 at 12:08 a.m., prompting officers to respond. A food delivery driver for a local Chinese restaurant was robbed at gunpoint while parked at a delivery location. A male suspect approached the victim, displayed a firearm, and took her money. Officers conducted a search of the area and located individuals matching the suspect’s description. One male was taken into custody and found to be carrying a pellet gun.
Jainie Lopez, 21, of 139 Marlborough St., and Mauricio Lainez, 21, of 234 Central Ave., were both charged with armed robbery.
POLICE RETURN CUSTODIAL KIDNAPPING VICTIM
Chelsea officers and the US Marshall service executed an arrest warrant at 49 Orange St. on Feb. 5 at 8:30 a.m. The subject was taken into custody without resistance. The warrant was a full extradition warrant issued Dec. 4, 2018 by North Little Rock District Court in Arkansas. The case involved a parental kidnapping that originated in Arkansas and was resolved in Chelsea.
Latricia Rucker, 34, of 49 Orange St., was charged with being a fugitive from justice.
DRIVING DRUNK ON ESSEX
A CPD officer was dispatched to Essex Street at Hawthorne Street on Feb. 8 at 10:55 p.m. in response to a report of a white pickup truck that had struck a parked vehicle. The pickup’s driver remained at the wheel when officers arrived. After removing the driver from the vehicle and conducting a roadside assessment, officers determined the operator was under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest.
German Quinonez-Cal, 38, of 70 Hawthorne St., was charged with operating under the influence of liquor.
