Blocking the Way

During a foot patrol in Bellingham Square on Feb. 11 at 10:05 a.m., an officer witnessed a group obstructing pedestrian traffic in front of 427 Broadway, which forced a family accompanied by a small child to step into the street. When the officer asked the group to move, one male became agitated, growing loud and disorderly while refusing to comply. With assistance from other officers, the male was taken into custody following a brief altercation.

Michael Catino, 35, of East Boston, was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Crack Cocaine Bust

Chelsea Police executed a search warrant on Feb. 12 at 90 Chestnut St. #3 as part of an ongoing investigation into a male subject suspected of distributing crack cocaine from the location. During the investigation, the CPD purchased narcotics from the address. Officers placed the male subject into custody.

John Venete, 33, of 90 Chestnut St., was charged with possession to distribute cocaine.

Squattin’ in the Cellar

Officers responded to 26-28 Spencer Ave. on Feb. 15 after receiving a report of two unwanted individuals on the property. The landlord accompanied officers to the basement, where they discovered two males. Scattered nearby were numerous needles and drug paraphernalia. One of the men was found to be carrying illegal pills. Both individuals were arrested.

Jeff Bosquet, 36, of Everett; and Stephen Morgan, 30, of 55 Heard St., were both charged with trespassing and possession of a Class C drug.

Broke into Van

At 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 16, officers patrolling near the Bellingham Street Bridge by the Silver Line Overpass spotted a motor vehicle with its lights off parked in the middle of the road next to a van. As the officers approached, two males and a female—all known to the officers—exited the vehicle. The car had a broken rear window. When the owner arrived at the scene, he informed officers the window had been intact when he parked the car earlier. He also reported that tools were missing from the vehicle. All three individuals were arrested.

Jeff Bosquet, 36, of Everett; David Kerns, 43, of Revere; and Jaclyn Doucette, 29, of Revere; were all charged with breaking and entering in the night for a felony and larceny/receiving stolen property under $1,200.
